Guidelines and Program

GUIDELINES



You will be required to draw THREE SEPARATE IMAGES. One for Dressage, one for Cross Country, and one for Show Jumping. The following information will provide you with some guidelines as to what will be required in your drawing. Pay close attention, as one slip up could loose you a place on the winner's podium

Dressage:
  • Must be full body
  • Riders must be shown
  • Riders must be wearing appropriate dressage attire, a black hat (helmet for CCI*-**, and helmet OR tophat for CCI***-****) and boots
  • Horse must be wearing attractive black dressage tack. Saddle pad must be white
  • You may draw the horse performing any classical dressage manover
  • Country flag must be visible on either the saddle pad or rider
  • Start number must be visible on either the bridle, saddle pad or rider 
  • Stallions are to wear a green disk attached to their bridle or saddle pad, indicating that they are stallions and for the public and competitors to be aware of them. This disk may be doubled as the start number

Dressage tests will be held in an outdoor dressage arena. There are no fences, but white short posts and chains [link], and the arena is bedded with red sand

Cross Country:
  • Must be full body
  • Riders must be shown
  • Riders must be wearing neat attire, white or tan jodhpurs, protective led vest, a helmet and boots
  • Horse must be wearing comfortable tack, nuteral colours. Saddle pad may be any colour
  • You may draw the horse trotting, cantering or galloping. Refusals and falls are also accepted, but will not place
  • Country flag must be visible on either the saddle pad or rider 
  • Start number must be visible on either the bridle, saddle pad or rider 
  • Stallions are to wear a green disk attached to their bridle or saddle pad, indicating that they are stallions and for the public and competitors to be aware of them. This disk may be doubled as the start number

Cross Country race runs mostly through scrub and bush land. The terrain in rough and rocky. Many of the obstacles are created from fallen trees and logs. The water jump is a squiggly gum leg set at the bank and shallows of a large, murky dam 


Show Jumping:
  • Must be full body
  • Jump obstacle must be shown
  • Riders must be shown
  • Riders must be wearing appropriate Show Jumping attire, white or tan jodhpurs, a helmet and boots
  • Horse must be wearing attractive black or brown tack. Saddle pad must be white or neutral colour
  • You may draw the horse cantering or jumping. Refusals and falls are also accepted, but will not place
  • Country flag must be visible on either the saddle pad or rider 
  • Start number must be visible on either the bridle, saddle pad or rider 
  • Stallions are to wear a green disk attached to their bridle or saddle pad, indicating that they are stallions and for the public and competitors to be aware of them. This disk may be doubled as the start number
Show Jumping class will be held in an outdoor jumping arena. There are no fences, but white short posts and chains [link], and the arena is bedded with red sand. You have the option of using the pre-designed jumps, or creating your own

PROGRAM


Day 1
Forecast: A low of 22°C and a top of 35°C, fine throughout the morning with a small amount of cloud cover forming over the afternoon
A Wednesday, guests are permitted arrival two days prior the the official opening of the event. This has been organised to accommodate for international competitors, to give them the opportunity to settle in and recuperate
Upon arrival, competitors will need to check in at the front office to sign off their names. There they will receive a stable number or guest paddock, and those who have booked a guest cottage will also need to pay their fee and be given a cottage number and key. Competitors will also receive a complementary shirt. These may also be purchased by spectators from the front office
Various training facilities will be open for competitor use between 7 AM and 9 PM, including 2 round yards, dressage arena and show jumping arena
Breakfast will be served between 6 AM and 10 AM
Lunch will be served between 11 AM and 2 PM
Dinner will be served between 4 PM and 10 PM

Day 2
Forecast: A low of 20°C and a top of 27°C, clearing cloud in the morning and mostly sunny throughout the rest of the day
It is recommended that all guests arrive by Thursday, so as they are not travelling through the night and there is no mad rush, delays or missed starts on the first day of the show
All training facilities will be open for competitor use, including 2 round yards, dressage arena, show jumping arena, three unoccupied flat-surface grass paddocks and the low-level endurance trails. The Cross Country course is CLOSED until the day of the Cross Country test
Breakfast will be served between 6 AM and 10 AM
Lunch will be served between 11 AM and 2 PM
Dinner will be served between 4 PM and 10 PM

Day 3
Forecast: A low of 31°C and a top of 38°C, clear throughout the day
7 AM - 9 AM: CCI* Dressage
9:30 AM - 12 PM: CCI** Dressage
12:30 PM - 3 PM - CCI*** Dressage
3:30 PM - 6 PM - CCI**** Dressage
Breakfast will be served between 4 AM and 8 AM
Lunch will be served between 11 AM and 2 PM
Dinner will be served between 4 PM and 10 PM

Day 4
Forecast: A low of 19°C and a top of 23°C, clear throughout the morning, and a small amount of cloud cover in the afternoon
7 AM - 9 AM: CCI* Cross Country
9:30 AM - 12 PM: CCI** Cross Country
12:30 PM - 3 PM - CCI*** Cross Country
3:30 PM - 6 PM - CCI**** Cross Country
Breakfast will be served between 4 AM and 8 AM
Lunch will be served between 11 AM and 2 PM
Dinner will be served between 4 PM and 10 PM

Day 5
Forecast: A low of 20°C and a top of 27°C, mostly clear throughout the day. Thunderstorms rolling in over late afternoon
7 AM - 9 AM: CCI* Show Jumping
9:30 AM - 12 PM: CCI** Show Jumping
12:30 PM - 3 PM - CCI*** Show Jumping
3:30 PM - 6 PM - CCI**** Show Jumping
Breakfast will be served between 4 AM and 8 AM
Lunch will be served between 11 AM and 2 PM
Dinner will be served between 4 PM and 10 PM

Day 6
Forecast: A low of 15°C and a top of 21°C, heavy rain and lightning storms throughout the day
Pack up

The COMPETITION will be SCORCHING HOT. Can you BEAT the HEAT?

obstacle must be fully shown? My sketch shows about 3/4 from it and I was wondering if its a must to change it
